User Credential "Masking"

Hello,

We recently purchased the Plumsail Workflow Actions Pack for O365 and are in testing phases of a new workflow. Using the “Get items by query” requires a domain username and password. I saw the post here: Why user credentials are required for some activities? which gives reasoning however I’m not sure I understand.

My question really is, I’m concerned with leaving a domain admin type logon in plain text where anyone with SharePoint designer can see that username and password. Is there same way I can “protect” the password? Maybe even “mask” it? Or how do I assign a service type account to O365 where it’s only permission is to run workflows?

Thank you,

Hi,

We are working on functionality which will allow to store credentials in settings for all workflows or for specific workflow. Thus, it will not be necessary to specify credentials directly in the workflow. Nobody will be able to see password, it will be encrypted.

The new version will be available on December 22.

Hi Anton,

That is very good news! Thank you very much.
