Best Practice to Design Forms for SharePoint 2019

please can you advise on what is best practice for designing forms?

I want to standardise my work so that anyone who steps into the designer can understand how fields, code and other bits are arranged.

I've been using a mixture of the designer's user interface as well as writing code in the editors.

I feel like the documentation is lacking in describing how best to "design forms" in the designer for other developers.

If you're talking about transferring existing forms to another person for moderation, then adding comments to the code and creating documentation is what is usually done in this case.
