Comments button - remove if disabled on list?

Suggestion - maybe make the comments button just disappear if comments are disabled on the list???

I realize you get a disabled message if they are disabled, but why not emulate what Sharepoint Online does and just remove the option completely if they are disabled? And yes, I understand I could remove the button with some css or js if I wanted to.
