List and Library Inline Edit multiple rows

Is there a way using the List and Library control to Inline Edit multiple rows simultaneously?

For example, I am automatically populating rows into the List and Library control from a button click and now I would like to put those new rows into inline edit mode so the users can immediately start entering information.

No, currently they can't, but users can just double click on a field to edit and start editing right away.
