is there any way to mark attachments as new in the EditForm? For example put a small indication near an attachment so that the user sees that another user uploaded a new attachment?

What do you mean by another user uploaded a new attachment?
Do you need to see the upload date? If so, the best solution is to upload files to a Document library and display it using the List or Library control:
I need the attachment control, not list/library.
There are Sharepoint Items and multiple people edit them. I want to show an indication what the newest attachments are.
To highlight the newest file, you need to know the date of file upload.
The Attachment field does not store the date the file was uploaded. You can either use the List or Library control or ask users to include the creation date in the file name.
