Issue: In the modern Plumsail SharePoint Forms Designer, for what we will call Form A, after using SharePoint List Settings to configure a lookup column to include additional lookup list columns, those columns don't appear in the Forms Designer's SharePoint Fields list, even after a manual refresh and after closing and reopening the form.
Forms Designer Version: 4.3.2
Reproduction
Configured the lookup column WorkflowStage to include its Description column. SharePoint successfully created the expected field: WorkflowStage_x003a_Description
Switched back to FormsDesigner (it was open)
Clicked the SharePoint Fields refresh action (next to the title)
RESULT: WorkflowStage:Description is not available in the Unused field list.
EXPECTED: The list to display WorkflowStage:Description
Troubleshooting
Repeated using a different lookup, Organization.
Tried closing and reopening Forms Designer. On reopening, it upgraded to 4.3.2. Neither of the above updated the list
Tried configuring a lookup column on a different form. This form worked as expected.
Searching the designer.json, it is
Defined as the expected Lookup field (ShowField="Description", FieldRef pointing to the base WorkflowStage lookup) — same pattern as WorkflowStage_x003a_StageDisplay.
Present in the content type's FieldRefs, the list's DefaultView.Fields, and the All Items view's ViewFields.
Hidden: false, Sealed: false, ReadOnlyField: true — identical flags to other working projected fields (Status_x003a_Description, Organization_x003a_Acronym, etc.), all of which do show up in the designer and are already used in the New form.
Conclusion: Maybe an out-of-date cache? Since this is happening only on this specific form, I don't think it's reproducible elsewhere.
Hello @Kenton_Hensley,
Thank you for the detailed report, but I think we need to look closer into the form to find the root cause. Can you please contact us via support@plumsail.com, copy your report and attach an exported form?
