Parent field on the new child form

Hi there.
I know I could do that in the old version, but now I can't find the instructions on how to do it in the new designer: I need a parent field (not ID) to be copied to child's new form.
Or if you can explain how I can show/hide fields on new child form based on the parent (parent is already in Edit mode and saved)
