PowerAutomate triggers with Plumsail Forms

Hi. I have a Plumsail Forms (not Sharepoint Forms) which is attached to a Sharepoint list. This is done as the form needs to be filled in by external people and needs to include file attachments (which Microsoft Forms won’t let you do). I need to trigger a workflow in Sharepoint once the form has been submitted.

Options and issues:

  1. Use the Plumsail ‘Form is submitted’ trigger which correctly triggers the workflow but the only output of the trigger are ‘_id’ and one other control which doesn’t come from the Sharepoint list. However I need to include some of the other column information from the list/form in the workflow.
  2. Use the normal ‘When an item is created’ trigger but this doesn’t appear to consistently trigger when a Plumsail form is submitted and the data from the form appears in the Sharepoint list.

Any thoughts on this? I feel that option 1 is the correct ‘supported’ option from Plumsails perspective, but why does the Microsoft ‘When an item is created’ trigger not work when a new row is created by a Plumsail form?

The fields are available in Form is submitted inside of the data object, they are just not parsed. We do recommend using When an item is created trigger, it can work with delay, but it should be consistent. How often did you experience any issues with it?

Hi. Apologies for the delay. The Power Automate trigger is currently set to ‘When an item is created’ but looking at the flow history the last time it ran was on the 22nd September, however looking at the Plumsail Forms submissions in our Plumsail console I can see that 5 forms have been submitted since the 22nd September. I can confirm that the Power Automate flow is currently turned on.

As a separate point one of the 5 forms that was submitted has not appeared in the SharePoint list yet forms submitted either side of the missing one have appeared in the SharePoint list. I can split this last item off to a separate thread if needed.
