I have a Public Form that needs to be accessible to the public (so I can't use a Sharepoint Form). I would like to populate a drop-down list from a table in a database.
Hard-coding the list items with Javascript would be challenging because there are almost 1,000 items. That method also would require editing the Javascript whenever the database table changes, which is unpredictable.
If I put the database table into a Sharepoint list, is there a way to access that list with Javascript, load the table contents into a Javascript array, and populate the Form drop-down from the Javascript array?
Dear @donald.kantik,
It is possible, but it isn't easy. We have a guide on how it can be done via an Azure Function with an AAD app - https://medium.com/plumsail/how-to-provide-public-access-to-sharepoint-online-list-data-via-azure-function-using-azure-ad-app-f25f881d7328
In the future, we plan to add this functionality out of the box, but no timeline on that yet, we're currently working on getting data from Excel. If you would like to speed up the process and would consider paid support - contact us at support@plumsail.com and we can discuss potential improvements and how much time they will take to implement.
