Split String action and spaces in string

Hello,

I am trying to use the Split String action in my work flow but the workflow is suspended every time. Here is a sample of the sting I am trying to spli.

7777777|123456|Taj Mahal Casino|Boardwalk and Virginia Avenue|Atlantc City|NJ|08401

Thru my own testing, it appears that spaces are not allowed in strings. Is this true? If so, is there a work around?
