I have a workflow that builds a root folder and adds a set of subfolders, but if a user inputs an invalid character, the workflow gets stuck on internal status "Started" with a description of the error. I know I can create alerts with a specific view that looks for "Error" or "Failed', but because the workflow does not error or fail, it doesn't write anything to workflow history.
If I can be alerted of these problems, I can rectify them quickly and prevent users retrying to create the same item again and again.
