Parsing SharePoint API JSON output

#1

I’m working on a flow to generate an html file from template. The template data comes from the Microsoft SharePoint connector get items action. Below is the output of the get items action. Issue I’m having is this output seems cannot be passed directly into the Plumsail create html from template. I’m getting this error:

Unable to cast object of type ‘System.Object[]’ to type ‘System.Collections.Generic.IDictionary`2[System.String,System.Object]’.

I have tried using the parse json action and modifying the schema to not include properties that I don’t need but haven’t been successful. Anyone has any end to end examples or tricks when it comes to using the output from SharePoint API?

Hello, @aortiz-arroyo.

Can you please provide the screenshots of your flow? Please extend the steps, so that we could see in what form you put data.

Best regards, Kirill Shaklein.

The flow is triggered Manually then:

  • get file content
  • get items
  • create html from template
  • Convert html to pdf

Hello, @aortiz-arroyo.

Please send us the template html file to [email protected] and also the step ‘create html from template’ in edit mode extended, so that I could see how you pass the data to the template.

You can also review this example.

Best regards, Kirill Shaklein

I just had this same issue except with the “Create DOCX document from template”. I have a Choice column and the iteration does not occur - instead I see System.Object[] in the resulting DOCX document for that placeholder. Has there been any resolution to this?

Hello @boldfacealbie2,

We need to investigate the issue. Please send us the flow screenshots (edit mode) and the source docx template to [email protected], I’ll try to reproduce the situation and advise further.
